On April 29, 2016 Drake released his latest album titled "Views" (shortened from "Views from the 6). Being a Drake fan since the beginning of his career, I knew he wouldn't disappoint and he always delivers. My reasoning for this rendition of Views, pertaining to the artwork, marketing and promotion, I wanted to put my spin on it as if I were actually apart of the promo team (A girl can dream). I really wanted to explore with creativity on this project throughout and I hope that's just what I delivered! Happy Viewing ~Quella
Here I developed what I envisioned the Views promo logo to look like prior to the actual Views logo(the one with the eyes). I thought it would be a strong representation to combine the word VIEWS and the 6 together, with the slight alteration in the form of the S. I explored with the negative space to keep the overall look simple, clean and easy to read.
The art direction and photography was executed fairly well. I loved the color scheme that was portrayed throughout the album booklet. It reminded me of classical renaissance portraits. I wanted to combine the stronger images that had the most personality and incorporate them into one full poster somewhat resembling that of a movie poster. I played with blendings, angles and directions of the images and effects mainly due to the fact that when I thought of Views as a word, the word that stuck out to me the most was perspective. It's all about how you look at things...
